No water in the whole of SE23 due to a Thames Water burst, (apparently at the junction of Tyson Road, Honor Oak Road and Canonbie Road as stated by Thames Water.
Can anyone confirm if the location is correct???????????
Apparently water tankers are being filled to recharge the main during the period of repair (however long that is), but how can we have a burst and it's not even cold or Winter??????????????

Yes, there has been no water all afternoon. I came down Canonbie Road at 4:30 to join Honor Oak Rd but saw no sign of a leak there. However, cynical old me wouldn’t be surprised if this major failure stems from the usual botched repair of one of the countless and endlessly recurring leaks in the area.
This article from last November might shed some light on this murky subject.

I drove through the junction of Canonbie, Tyson and Honor Oak Roads just now - no sign of a problem. I walked down to the railway underpass by the Forest Hill mural though, and water is gushing out of the leak that has been causing traffic mayhem for the last week or so.
The earlier leak under the railway bridge was apparently repaired today but the Thames Water technician tells me the folk who came to fill the hole hit the repair with their digger, resulting in an unplanned water feature. The guy says he has no clue when it will be fixed as the flow and water level has to subside before they can assess the situation, as “no pump would be powerful to handle that sort of flow”!

Email Thames Water at CUSTOMER.FEEDBACK@THAMESWATER.CO.UK
and claim compensation for being without a water supply, the more people who do this the better. Make some noise and let them know you're not happy.

Thanks for the update, much appreciated.
So far in just over six hours I've received to text update messages from Thames Water.
At 19.02pm that states “we are aware of a burst main in your area. Our team are carrying out urgent repairs and will get your water supply back to normal as quickly as possible”
Then at 10.29pm, “We’re really sorry, this is a difficult repair, which means it’s taking us longer than normal. Our team are working hard to get this done as quickly as they can”
Two text messages in 6 hours is UNACCEPTABLE, Thames Water need to communicate, communicate and communicate with its customers.

Maybe they're too busy managing the incessant flow of effluent into our waterways

Latest update from Thames Water
"SE23
No water or low pressure
Last updated: 09/06 11:39
We're working hard on site.
Thank you for letting us know about no water or low pressure in SE23.
Our specialist team are on site and attending to a burst main in the vicinity of Waldram Road. We've re-routed water supplies to minimise disruption and keep taps flowing. You may continue to experience lower pressure than normal or an intermittent service while we work on fixing things and demand for water in the area remains high. Pressure will increase and the situation will improve in the next few hours.
We're sorry if this has disrupted your afternoon and we'll update again when we have more news.
Thank you for your continued patience while we put things right."
