A scheme set up through the GLA and Lewisham involved the supplier Green Energy Together (GET). It appears that GET did get quite a lot of money, but it is not clear that anyone who paid a deposit actually did get their Solar Panels. GET has now gone, and taken the deposits with it - perhaps £2000-3000 per household.

Has anyone here had any dealings with GET or the Solar Panel scheme?

We luckily didn't go ahead as the projected payback was something like 15 years and the roof/me probably wouldn't last that long. I remember an article about the GET fiasco either on the BBC or Grauniad website a couple of months ago. Looked like a father & son business that bid too low got too many contracts and was not able to scale. Tragic for all concerned.

The issue was those that should have vetted the contractors and have some insurance to cover deposits.
