We now have an idea of the level of service that will be running on the actual strike days next week.

According to the Network Rail map published today, it appears there will be a London Overground service through Forest Hill on those days and some form of a Southern service into London Bridge, but there is still no confirmation what is actually running on those days yet.

Trains are planned to operate between 0730-1830.

What isn't running?

Southeastern to Hayes, so no trains from Catford Bridge, Lower Sydenham or Penge East.

Thameslink through Crofton Park won't be running either.

Also no Southeastern trains to Victoria from Penge East and Sydenham Hill.

To add to the previous post, TfL have emailed this information regarding tube services on NR strike days, except for the 21st when tube staff will strike.

Quote:
On Thursday 23 and Saturday 25, we will run as much of our network as possible, but disruption is expected on the following sections of line:

Bakerloo line - Queens Park to Harrow & Wealdstone
London Overground
District line - Richmond and Wimbledon branches
Waterloo & City line
Elizabeth line

If I read the Southern site correctly then the trains into London Bridge are fast from East Croydon, so at Forest Hill / Honor Oak I think we are back to the Overground (with no doubt a reduced frequency - - also not sure if Overground can run after 6pm?). If you wanted to get to London Bridge by train, there' some going through Lewisham but that's a trek. So not a good picture I'm afraid

Southern got round to finally updating their strike page after I've posted.

As you mentioned, no stopping service to London Bridge, so I'd assume that's due to the Overground running services on strike days which lets Southern concentrate on other lines not served by other providers.

There are trains to Victoria from Crystal Palace and East Croydon if anyone wants to travel to Victoria on strike days, especially on Tuesday when the tube are also on strike and the 185 will be rammed. (East Croydon will require changing at West Croydon for the tram as there is no Thameslink or Southern service from Norwood Junction).

It's worth noting that the Overground including the core section and the Elizabeth line use Network Rail signallers, so they may close early as well due to them being on strike as well.

What Network Rail appear to have done is find staff who either aren't part of the RMT or managers who are trained in using the signal equipment to maintain a daytime service on some lines.

A small correction, there will be 2tph Thameslink services to East Croydon from Norwood Junction. There will also be 2tph to London Bridge from there as well operated by Thameslink.

There will be an amended London Overground timetable from Monday 20th - Sunday 26th and will be running 2tph to all destinations during strike days. So through Forest Hill/Honor Oak Park, it'll be a train every 15 minutes.

Night Overground will also not be running Friday 24th/Saturday 25th.

Thank-you.
Am I correct in thinking that the Overground also has last trains around 6pm on 23rd and 25th?
I ask because I finish my shift at 6pm in Central London and if the trains do finish early I'll need to beg a favour from my manager to leave early.

It now looks like the last Overground train to Forest Hill is at 1753 from Canada Water tomorrow and Thursday according to the journey planners. (1746 from Whitechapel).

On Wednesday and Friday afternoon, there will be additional trains to Forest Hill from London Bridge at x12, x28, x42 and x58 past each hour starting from 1558.

With it also being a tube strike tomorrow, it's also very unlikely that the Jubilee line will operate from Canada Water.

There's the option of getting the 47 bus from Canada Water bus station to London Bridge, but I expect them to be very crowded tomorrow.

Also the option of getting the 185 or P4 to Lewisham Station and then using Southeastern to London Bridge who are also operating a limited service until around 1800.

For Canary Wharf, use the Overground to Shadwell then the DLR or the Elizabeth line from Whitechapel. (Or DLR from Lewisham).

The DLR from Lewisham should be operating a normal service, although Bank may be closed, so check before you leave.

The Elizabeth line from Paddington to Abbey Wood will be operating tomorrow with a normal service until 1800 then a reduced service for the rest of the day.

No surprise that the London Overground service is a complete disaster today. The next train northbound as I type is at 1302.

The service has been reduced to 2ph Highbury - West Croydon and 2ph Dalston Jn - Clapham Jn. There will be no Crystal Palace or New Cross trains for the remainder of the day.

It appears there are more trains to London Bridge throughout the day today than on a normal Wednesday as Southern are running a Sunday timetable.

Yes!
it was quite a pleasant surprise getting to London Bridge at 18.25 as usual and seeing there was a train to Crystal palace at 18.28 rather than waiting until 18.40.
Incidentally the 18.40 and 19.10 trains didn't seem to be running.
Its all very confusing and its when it comes to local transport -or lack of-I find forums like this invaluable.
Thank you for the updates.
