wonderful news!
Thank-you.
I must say that the evening (18.28) service from London bridge was horrendous this evening.
They only put on a 4 carriage train (where-as the 6.27 was 8 or 10 carriages ) and the and of course the train was packed.
To add insult to injury the platform that the train pulled in at had no Escalator working and there were people 2 abreast coming down the stairs with all of us struggling to go up single file...once we reached the platform because the train had'nt pulled right up to the bumpers at the end of the platform it was at the point where the plattform is at its narrowest and there was a huge bottleneck of people still streaming off the train with those trying to get on it.
I dont know why at such a busy time of day with so many people either coming into town in order to go out (lots in party outfits) with west end shoppers going home Southern rail knowing full well that there zero Windrush line services across SE London beyong New X Gate did'nt bother providing a train with more carriages.

Unfortunately Southern Rail are organisationally separate from London Overground and London Transport so that may impact commom sense things like running longer trains when the Overground is out. I suspect that Southern Rail make not a lot out of their inner London routes.
I would really like to see Southern Rail inner London routes (and those of other rail companies) to be migrated to Sadiq Khan/London Transport. I am not saying that would fix the problem - but at least it would be under one management.

Another issue when the line is closed is that Southern/GTR are still responsible for replacement bus services on our line despite only operating a two per hour service, so recently this year they decided not to serve stations between Anerley and West Croydon, instead running between NXG and Crystal Palace, making passengers wanting to go further south by using local buses.
The GTR National Rail contract which includes Thameslink and Great Northern in addition to Southern is due to end in April 2028, so isn't going to be nationalised just yet, unlike South Western Railway which will be nationalised next year. Southeastern is already owned by the DfT.

As a retail worker who has to work weekends and many public holidays (especially Boxing day and New years day due to Winter sale) I cannot tell you how valuable you updates are to me.
Because where we live the services are divided between Southern and TFL its often really hard to work out what is running and what is'nt and timetables.
Thanks to you I've managed to plan my travel and get into work on time.
You are a star!!
Wishing you a lovely Christmas and a healthy and happy 2025

No, it's two per hour on Saturday all day at x27 and x57 past each hour to London Bridge. First train at 0557 and then every 30 minutes.

There are some changes to Hayes line services from tomorrow due to damaged track near Ladywell for the next three weeks.
If you're travelling to and from New Beckenham or Eden Park, trains will only call at those stations every 30 minutes.
This is to maintain a 4 trains per hour service at the busier stations while trains run slowly through Ladywell.
