Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th June

SOUTHERN: Normal service.

London Overground: Normal Service.

It's worth noting that there may be issues with the level of service on Monday and Tuesday due to the hot weather. London Overground are cutting services on the North London line and Watford DC lines over those two days.

I have a feeling that this coming w/e is another one where the routes into Lon Bridge are down (because of Victoria). I had a look at Trainline an hour or so back re Sunday and the only route to LB was to New Cross Gate, walk to New Cross etc, no sign of direct trains. Apologies if I have this wrong.

I've double checked. You're correct that due to the Victoria closure that we've lost our slots into London Bridge this weekend.

Once again when I check Southern's engineering works page, it makes no mention on the headline banner that it affects the Southern metro services into London Bridge.

Frustrating as usual,
And the 5 carriage London bridge service is usually almost full by the time it reaches FH.
What with local bus cuts and the patchy train service I am starting to feel somewhat marooned here.

Saturday 30th July.

London Overground is fully suspended on Saturday due to industrial action, while Southern is operating a very limited early morning and late night service to and from London Bridge.

There doesn't appear to be a replacement bus service, so use alternative routes such as local buses and the DLR from Lewisham. Southeastern isn't operating at all, but will be operating on Sunday.

Sunday 31st July.

Southern is operating the normal Sunday service with the exception of buses replacing trains between Purley and Caterham & Tattenham Corner.

London Overground will start later around 0900 as industrial action ends.

Looking at the station today I see the Overground looks to be completely out this weekend on our line.

As far as I can see Southern isn't impacted but who knows? If Realtime Trains is to be believed Southern has 2 trains per hour Sat, but 4 on Sunday.

Yes, the ELL is fully closed this weekend. Replacement buses operate between New Cross Gate and Dalston Kingsland.

The Clapham Junction branch is also closed with buses between Canada Water and Clapham Junction.

Oh! this is good news!
I'm working this weekend and I thought due to the strike we'd have no trains on Saturday

I forgot about the train strike on Saturday of which London Overground staff are participating in. Check nearer the time as the TfL website doesn't mention the strike this weekend.

Southern will be running this weekend regardless.

The RMT strikes will affect Southern on the 18th and 20th August.

The strike is going ahead on Saturday. There will be NO London Overground services operating. This is ASLEF (drivers).

The London Overground RMT strike on the 19th is station staff, RPI, traincare etc. It's hard to say currently what will be operating then. If there's not enough staff, stations won't be able to open. The only stations that our London Overground line serve that are NOT managed by ARL, are:

  • Highbury & Islington
  • Whitechapel
  • Canada Water
  • New Cross
  • Queens Road Peckham
  • Peckham Rye
  • Denmark Hill
  • Clapham Junction

That doesn't leave much to run a service.

Saturday 20th August.

Southern: No service due to industrial action.

London Overground: A reduced service until 6pm.

Sunday 21st August:

Southern: Normal Sunday service, although I'd expect first trains to start later than usual.

London Overground: No service between Sydenham and West Croydon. There will be the normal Sunday timetable in action with a late start to service, West Croydon trains are diverted to Crystal Palace. Passengers for stations towards West Croydon should use Southern services.

Saturday 3rd September:

Southern: No service except for the 0020 London Bridge to West Croydon and 0035 London Bridge to East Croydon early on Sunday morning.

London Overground: No service between Sydenham and Crystal Palace. A service every 15 minutes will operate between Highbury & Islington and West Croydon.

Sunday 4th September:

Southern: No service.

London Overground: No service between Sydenham and Crystal Palace. A service every 15 minutes will operate to West Croydon/Highbury & Islington, including early Sunday morning which replaces the Crystal Palace slots. Otherwise it'd be a 30 min gap between services until around 1100.

(The Southern details may change as Southern's website claims they don't know how it'll be affected, but RealTrainTimes has nothing through Forest Hill from Southern or even Thameslink on the fast)

A reminder for Southern customers who use London Bridge, from Monday 5th September, the times change to x28 and x58 past each hour.

Victoria services are reinstated and leave at x12 and x42 past each hour starting at 0642 and finish at 2242.

Last trains from London Bridge are the 2358 to Streatham Hill and the 0035 to East Croydon.
