On Saturday 17 July the inaugural Simon Shades Social brings together Lewisham Youth, Lewisham Alumni, Lewisham Celebrities and Lewisham Businesses in open conversation on food and futures!

Connections will be made across generations, cultures and backgrounds. Stories shared, opinions exchanged, experiences compared and contrasted. Attendees will find that the connections made, advice imparted and overall experience will serve them well as they chart their options and map their futures long-after the Simon Shades Social.

Inspiration on future pathways will be provided by the mix of Lewisham Alumni and Lewisham Celebrities participating on the programme and attending across the day

Our Alumni and Celebrities have attended the same schools and colleges, walked the same streets and faced similar challenges as our attendees. They will will share experiences including what has worked - and what hasn't - on their journeys and be available to offer both guidance and advice.

Insights into different facets of Lewisham Life and the the many and varied lives that make up the community and communities of Lewisham with food being the key.

Opportunities abound for our young people to share and shine... through the interaction on the day, by bonding over their favourite dishes - and at least two of our attendees will find THEIR signature dish makes it onto the menu of a local restaurant!
