Neighbourhood Watch Network are running a public survey to start to benchmark whether membership of a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme or living in a Neighbourhood Watch area has an impact on levels of crime, concern about crime, neighbourliness and the willingness of communities to work together.
The survey questions are grouped into three sections: -
• Perceptions and experience of crime – to help understand levels of crime victimisation, fear of crime and feelings of safety of local residents and the impact of crime prevention and reassurance activity.
• Neighbourliness – To help understand levels of neighbourliness, community cohesion and loneliness in the local community and the impact of activity to bring the community together to support each other.
• NW reach and diversity - to help understand the current reach and diversity of NW membership and the impact of activity to diversify and grow the membership.
The Network are keen to reach both Neighbourhood Watch members and non–members so comparisons can be made between the perception and experiences of crime and community.
If you would like to take part in the survey, this can be accessed via
