Seems to have been sabotaged--it's been shut with black plastic closure bands. Clearly not official as there are no signs anywhere about it. Also not clever, as everyone, being surprised when they got there, had to climb over it, whereas when it's open, you don't have to touch anything to get by. I've sent messages to the Sydenham Hill Woods LWT people and to Southwark.

Some kind soul clipped the closures (thank you!), so all sorted, and glad I didn't have to be the one to do it!

I suspect this was actually the council. They have been so s**t about this. Bad planning permission, no action, blocking off safe pedestrian Bridge.
The bridge has been blocked and unblocked a few times
and personally I don't see why they can't remove it - it isn't architecturally significant or high.
