At this unprecedented time of self-isolation and Covid-19, unfortunately there are still those amongst us that look to take advantage of others. In order to ensure you are not taken advantage of bear in mind the following points;
Be aware of people or web sites offering or selling Virus testing kits- Thee are only valid if offered by the NHS - No One else has these.
Vaccines or Miracle cures- There is currently no vaccine or cure available for Covid-19
Overpriced or fake goods to protect yourself from Covid-19; Like most things in life, if it seems to be too good to be true, it often is!
Shopping or Medical collection Services; These should be done by friends or family on your behalf or via a reputable company such as Lloyds Chemist or Tesco etc.
Home Cleaning Services; Again, remember we are currently advised to Self-Isolate and these services should only be undertaken by friends and family if you re vulnerable/or infirm.

If you think you have been scammed firstly contact your bank explaining what’s happened and to report a scam contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040. Otherwise if someone is at your door trying to sell you something; DO NOT open it until you’re satisfied the caller is genuine, you can always call police if you feel pressured, we’re here to support you.
