PROPOSED REDEVELOPMENT OF SYDENHAM HILL ESTATE (Sydenham Hill/Kirkdale)
The Corporation of London is proposing to build up to 135 new housing units on the existing Mais House site and across Otto Close. This means:

Approx. 400-500 new residents with no proposed infrastructure to support this new development (schools, doctors, parking, public transport)

9 floors at its highest point and located in one of the highest points in the whole of London.

Will dominate the landscape as viewed from Kirkdale, Thorpewood Avenue, Mount Ash Road, Baxter Fields, Sydenham Hill and most of the surrounding area

Within 100m of Eliot Bank school

Within a conservation area and facing Sydenham Hill Woods with the loss of mature trees and nature

Huge effects for those living on the estate: security, noise, loss of community

Information and the chance to comment on the plans is available here:
