Well if this is true then that Aldi are taking the former Toys R Us building at Bell Green, that is great news, a shot in the arm for all those who opposed the original plans for Aldi and finally and best of all, will provide much more choice and even better, competition with Sainsburys. Rejoice!!!!!

Yay. More traffic and pollution and even higher levels in the playground of the nearby school than those which already breach safety limits. Bloody NIMBY kids and their lungs.

Splendid it will be good to have an upmarket Lidl closer than Catfood.

No sign of any developments yet at the old Toys R Us store at Bell Green. Anyone have updates on this, Aldi or otherwise?

Long article in The Guardian (well, on the website) yesterday about Aldi and how it crept up on the established UK supermarkets...

Yup that’s as I remember it. As early adopters we now have a loft full of aisle of wonder items we never really wanted......another pack of very cheap chipboard screws anyone?
