A planning application has been made to demolish the All Inn One pub on Perry Vale and build a 66-room hotel.

Not just a hotel - it mentions a replacement pub/restaurant on the ground floor. Looks good to me (at a very casual first glance). Probably a better idea than the original replacement, which was a pub with flats above.

Will their be sufficient business for two hotels in such close proximity bearing mind the current proposals (for a hotel that is apparently going to be built on the site of the current co-op)?

Didn't realise FH was such a "desirable" place for business people and tourists to come and stay!!!!!!!!!

Let's see what comes of it.
In an ever changing area, I was recently reminded that we should embrace change and progress.

Not against the idea of it, but not that local to it either, so can understand some having concerns.

Will be interesting to see if both get the green light and actually go ahead with the plans.

I don't think it is so much SE23 that is the area of interest, but it serves as a good affordable hub for some for sure.

I can't help but wonder about parking for both planned hotels. It's unlikely that they would have no space for parking but it's not clear from this concept picture where the cars would go.

For this particular project I would assume the car park over the road would be used for parking. Many hotels in towns rely on secondary car parks.
