Another leak in the water main at the Brockley Road / south circ junction. We have now lost count of the number of times this has failed!

Complete chaos tonight with temporary lights on the south circ. Hope they actually fix it this time.

And now a burst pipe on Woolstone Road. Currently no running water and a rather noisy team outside with a digger

Has the time come to replace all London's water mains? They must be at least 100 years old!

Would mean Thames Water making an investment in the replacement of water mains, rather than their preferred option of paying dividends to share holders.

Quite agree Samuelsen. Since Thames Water was created with water privatisation, it has been consistent in under-investing in infrastructure whilst throwing money at shareholders and directors.

When they sold off the 'spare' reservoirs for development early on it was obvious how things would progress. So glad I didn't buy shares in them when Thatcher sold the public the utilities they already owned as I would not be able to live with myself now.
