A boy of around 12 knocked on my door yesterday afternoon around 6pm, he claimed he was from Forest Hill School, and that he had completed a fun run in Greenwich Park for the NSPCC. There was no formal information on the sponsor sheet he had, and it all seemed suspicious. He was going to houses around Stanstead Road, near the Malham Road Estate.

I didn't give him any money and said I would check with the school. The school confirmed that this is not a pupil and they had received a few reports about this.

The surname he gave was Nixon, and he claimed to live on Stanstead Road.

Please do not give him money and let the local police or Forest Hill Boys School know.

I have just had a second visit from a different young man this evening claiming to be doing a fun run in Greenwich Park in 2 weeks time for Forest Hill Boys. Please let your neighbours know to not hand over any money and let the local police know.
He headed off to Ewart Road/Wastdale Road.

Same story in Kemble Road last weekend. He didn't seem very convinced by what he was saying so declined to sponsor him.

The boy is doing the rounds in Sunderland Road this afternoon. He came into our block of flats while the cleaner had the front door open. He has a crumpled NSPCC sponsorship form and claimed to be from Forest Hill School. I've reported to 101 as requested by Perry Vale Police on their Twitter feed.

Seems like he has/they have been doing the rounds of houses in Kemble, Colfe, Loxton, Cibber and presumably other surrounding roads. If it were an official school event, there would be headed paper for the school. You could try asking them if they would like to have a photo taken with you, their sponsor. I'm guessing they wouldn't be up for it.

There were some young lads doing this in Shoreditch too. I gently declined the lads (because they couldn't have been more that 11-13) didn't see any point in directly confronting them myself. I reported them to the community support officers walking nearby. It was lunchtime and they should have been in school. It's a social services and school issue.
