The road does tighten up quite strangely and sharply around the newish development, which, I suspect, is why a pedestrian crossing isn't an option at that point. However, if they only enforced existing regulations e.g. parking on double yellow lines by both FH Cars and a van delivering to the convenience store opposite, then a reasonable view could be taken as to whether additional restrictions are required.
