From Lewisham Council:

Quote:
Recycle your real Christmas tree at any of the following points, throughout January 2018. Trees can be brought to the recycle points at any time of the day.

Hilly Fields, entrance in Hilly Fields Crescent
Deptford Park, entrance in Scawen Road
Telegraph Hill, Pepys Road/Kitto Road entrance
Talbot Place, Blackheath
Mountsfield Park, entrance at top of George Lane
Sydenham Wells Park, entrance Wells Park Road
Forster Memorial Park, entrance top of Whitefoot Lane
Northbrook Park, Baring Road entrance
Mayow Park, entrance in Mayow Road
Chinbrook Meadows, Amblecote Road
Manor House Gardens, Old Road entrance*
Beckenham Place Park, Old Bromley Road entrance
Blythe Hill, Codrington Hill entrance.

Please note: Manor Park is not a recycle point. We will recycle trees left at Manor House Gardens, not Manor Park

If you have a garden waste bin you can also use this to recycle your real Christmas tree. Please remove all the decorations and cut it into pieces no more than 10cm think and 50cm long.

Lewisham Council don't make it very easy for people, do they? Which might account for the number of trees that seem to appear on street corners or on quiet stretches of road around these parts. Not everyone can easily drag their old Christmas trees to the nearest park. Is it a ploy to get people buying fake trees in future?

Just a question . If you subscribe to the garden recycling bin scheme, why not cut the tree up so it can be put the brown bin?

Sorry just read the end of the first post and tried to delete this but without success.
