Good work.

On the basis that maybe you read these posts and respond to them, can you let us know anything about reported muggings/robberies taking place on or around the footpath between Trilby Road and Sunderland Road?

Thanks,

BigED

I’ve just authorised a charge for one of PCRichards cases for breach of a community protection notice (CPN) for one of our local beggars.
A Postal Charge Requisition (PCR) will be issued this week & a court date is booked.

Hello Sgt Biddle

Interested to see about your local policing work in line with neighbourhood priorities. A neighbourhood priority for me is to find out whether there have, or have not, been recent muggings / robberies in or around the footpath linking Trilby Road and Sunderland Road.

I appreciate you are busy but it would be good if you could engage with people using this forum.

Thanks,

BigED

Good job to you &your team, Any news on the new lighting/CCTV in the Trilby road ally?
On another point is there anywhere we can get some new Neighbor Hood Watch stickers for our windows ?

The ones on our windows are well sun bleached ?

Thanks

We’ve had a few shed burglaries around Sunderland Road/Shipman Road in recent weeks… please check the security of your sheds/out houses this weekend…

A female has been arrested in Forest Hill for begging and breach of her CPN.

She has been offered help and support from the team on a number of occasions.
However she continually breached her community protection notice (CPN).
As I’ve said before, this is not the biggest or most serious offence however there does come a time for enforcement if all else fails.
She will be charged and will be going to court on Monday morning.

Unfortunately it has had to come to this…

Thanks for the updates.

Can you let us know about recent muggings/robberies in or around the Trilby Road/Sunderland Road alley? And also any plans to improve security there - CCTV, improved lighting, clearing sight lines, etc?

Looking forward to your response.

The team are out later… I’m off to court this afternoon with the beggar I arrested before Christmas.
He was charged again yesterday with begging & breach of his Community Protection Notice conditions again yesterday.

Thanks, SgtB,

Before you head off to court, or maybe when you get back, could you please update us on recent muggings/robberies in/around the Trilby Road/Sunderland Road alley? And also on any plans to improve security there - CCTV, improved lighting, clearing sight lines, etc?

Thanks,

BigED

I’ve been to court.
The beggar pleaded guilty & received a fine for his troubles.

On the bus lovely lady said that she recognised me from twitter etc!

Now back to find the team working hard compiling reports for various partners.

It’s was a busy day yesterday… It started with PC Kate and me having a chat about her 6 month probationary review - all good so far!

PC Richard and PC Gillian were in early to visit a victim of harassment in Perry Vale. They were able to take a statement and view footage. The suspect was issued with a First Instance Harassment Warning. They will be keeping an eye on this.
PCSO Andrea was out and about in Perry Vale too - visiting community groups etc. PC Richard has started the process of obtaining a Criminal Behaviour Order against one of our local people of concern.

PC Mick and PC Sam were on patrol in Forest Hill town centre. PC Mick had some good news. The beggar he arrested for breach of her Community Protection Notice last week pleaded guilty and received a £180 fine.
PCSO Amie was away Emergency Life Support training yesterday so was the only one not about.

PCs Kate and Rob were out and about in Crofton Park. PC Kate held a Contact Point meeting. PCSO Aaron joined her.

I assisted PC Gillian and PC Richard with an arrest enquiry. No luck this time… then we managed to sneak a quick coffee at the lovely Brown and Green cafe in Mayow Park where we kicked a few footballs about with the kids!
It’s all about the community!

After that I met up with PCSO Andrea in Perry Vale and we patrolled Dartmouth Road - popping into Sugar Mountain to chat with Pauline about the forthcoming Street event that we hope to support with horses and a crime prevention stall.
Then back through Perry Vale. Always great to get out on foot.

The day ended with PC Kate receiving a number of short notice and lengthy actions from the CPS for a harassment case she dealt with and which is going to court next week (!). All had to be completed ASAP so PC Sam and I stayed late with her to get them sorted. Why do memos always come on a Friday evening when you want to get away???

I even found time to pop into see JK Banquets about a parking issue…

A busy day!

what's the point of fining a beggar? That is hardly a deterrent surely......

Speaking of JK Banquets parking have you ever noticed the speed that cars fly along the top of Perry Vale next to station. The speed bumps don't slow traffic down, nor does the 20 mph speed limit. Why no speed cameras, zebra crossing or proper speed bumps.

Would love to hear your thoughts I have children that cross there.

Thanks in advance

A busy few days for the team…

Patrols around all the Se23 wards - case preparation including an application for a Criminal Behaviour Order - Contact Points - ongoing training and career development attachments - more patrols - visiting a family who need support from us and the local authority - ‘Coffee with a Copper’ - proactive stop and searches - arrests of wanted offenders - school visits to speak to our younger citizens about road safety - advice to our older citizens about personal safety and crime prevention - planning a joint operation (more on that soon) and much much more… including time for the odd cup of tea!

Dear SE23…

It’s going to turn very cold over the next week & snow is expected - so spend some time checking on your elderly/infirm neighbours welfare.

And take care on icy roads!

Hopefully Lewisham will do get the roads gritted in time to make them safer if the predicted snow fall happens.

Also as a result of Honor Oak Road currently being closed due to the emergency road works traffic is "bombing" over Canonbie Road, any chance you can assist with some speed checks to slow the traffic, just think of the unlimited number of fines you can enforce on unsuspecting drivers before they clock what the score is.

Morning Sarge - long time no post. Has anything been happening locally with the boys and girls in blue?

Maybe whoever pastes our local rozzers' updates here could do an update - it is useful to hear what their priorities and activities are.

Thanks.

Dear all,
Apologies for not posting but it’s been hectic to say the least! Although mostly nothing to do with Se23!!

We’ve had a couple of nasty assaults in Wasdale Road in the past couple of weeks. Please - anyone with info call 101. You can always email me as well John.Biddle@met.police.com
PC Sam was off duty but first on scene and gave first aid to the victim of the last one.

On a lighter note we were able to attend the Dartmouth Road Street Party last week. Well done To all those who helped to organise it!

We have taken a couple of local beggars to court. One - who is not homeless - has been issued with a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) which will hopefully stop him from begging in Perry Vale.

We hope to carry out more Community Speed Watch events in the near future. Watch this space - you can help keep our roads safe!

More will be posted ASAP!

Let’s be careful out there. (ForestHillStreetBlues)
