My Mum has just been robbed on the corner of Vancouver and Kilmorie Road by 4 men on 2 motorbikes. My (pretty elderly) Dad was getting out of the passenger side when they shone a laser in his face and someone opened my Mum's driver door shouting "give me your gold".

It's not like she's laden in the stuff, but her few wedding bangles are probably worth something. The police think they are specifically targeting elderly Indian ladies but one to be aware of. My Mum had spotted the 2 motorbikes that had been weaving in and out of traffic since they came off the A2 but hadn't twigged that's what they were up to.

For the people moving to the area, honestly it is quite safe most of the time. It's one of the reasons this came as quite a shock.
