It is obvious they have been hacked. Their twitter feed never has anything except things about special offers and so on -- never any comments about news or personal opinions. The management have said no one there tweeted this and that they have contacted the police.

I would hate to see this place harmed by some malicious person.

The overwheming majority of those replying to the tweet seem to think the account has not been hacked.

That does not mean anything. Just a mob mentality. Nothing about any issue other than weekend deals etc. has ever appeared on that Twitter feed before. The owners have contacted the police.

Unfortunately many people just have a knee-jerk reaction to news and fail to examine evidence. This tweet would have been totally put of character for tjis business.

The overwheming majority of those replying to the tweet are idiots.

This is obviously a hack. Pure and simple. What's happening is just a lynchmob mentality. Totally outrageous.

I would hope that true SE23ers on this site would support the Perryvale and not join in with the mob.

Quite amazing that the Croydon Advertiser journo doesn't even appear to try and contact the Perry Vale. Is this rag the local version of the Express?

Some people really do need to get out more.

That's a real shame. The Perry Vale has always been lovely. Their 50% off steak nights are terrific. I hope its custom doesn't suffer as a result of this.

Of course they were hacked - they are a viable, sane business, as opposed to a cat charity.

This is a fantastic idea. The Perryvale is supporting a charity that helps the victims of cyber-abuse. Quite right, after the c**p they've been through.
