A 30ish year old male was attacked in the early evening on Devonshire Road HOP during the Christmas period. A group of 5-7 black youths jumoed and beat the man, but fortunately with no serious harm, stole cash and his mobile. A young woman I understand was also physically attacked and robbed in HOP by the same group or similar. Please be very careful as they are not afraid to chase you. The man had to come into the bar to escape, he was very shaken, I have no idea if the police were informed.

I wonder if this is connected to the incident which required police attendance in Brenchley Gardens. What date was this , Ana?

Sorry my days merge into one, but both incidents happened on the same day.

I live in Devonshire Road and since the streetlights were swapped out, for presumably more energy efficient ones, some time ago, it has taken on a much more gloomy feel when it gets dark. Personally I have always felt safe in Forest Hill/HOP but less so since the streets got darker.

Saturday night a late 20s 30 ish man raided Visual Eyes in HOP. It is staffed by young people and although a scuffle ensued, fortunately no one was hurt, just shaken. He got away in the early evening with a good days takings. Easy money when you pick on a 17 year old.

Are these crimes all connected, i.e. committed by the same person/group?
