I saw them too, they carried machine guns and walked on Perry Vale, crossed the road by the school and went towards Dacres Road.

All we want is a bobby on the beat, to exchange greetings, create good relationships with the community and keep an eye out for anything suspicious.
There are no events around here to justify such a response.

Fine, but can someone point out some incidents in SE23 where this might be a justified response (other than enforcing the speed limit).
A good deal of crime is solved by people offering up information. The police need to be approachable.
