A man stopped my partner in the alley-way on Tuesday to warn her that he had been mugged and assaulted there on Monday evening at around 7pm. He imagines it was pretty opportunistic given the time of day and the fact that they took his wallet but didn't take his phone or any other belongings. I believe it was 2 or 3 young guys and at least one approached from the front and the other behind. He did manage to make a run for it but they chased him towards Normanton St and tripped him up. He was then physically assaulted and had his wallet stolen. He said he has reported it to the police and was told that some similar incidents had been reported and there was an 'investigation' going on. He was obviously shaken-up and has only just moved to the area. I know it is a popular cut-through - as I use it myself - so just wanted to flag it.

Thanks for raising this.... I live close by (although don't use that particular alleyway) but is good to be aware.

it always feels a bit unsafe as you can't see the length of the alley and the entrance/exit to the trilby road end is particularly badly sighted. easy for people to hide.
