The messy church proved very popular with 25 children having a really good time. They hope to do another before Christmas.

A big thank you to all who attended yesterdays autumn fair. Lots of things to do and buy particularly for the children. The Surrey Docks farm was particularly popular as was the face painting and guess the number of sweets in the jar. Over £1000 of much needed funds were raised.

Just a reminder that there is a coffee morning every Wednesday between 11 and 1 where tea, coffee, cakes and room to sit and chat, all at reasonable prices.

A quick update on the Wednesday coffee stop.

From next week for 3 weeks a new art exhibition is being shown at the coffee stop.

This is from mainly amateur local artists who work out of the Ackroyd centre in Ackroyd road. Its part of the EPSP which stands for Elder People Support Project.

Its free entry and there is of course the opportunity to purchase tea, coffee and scrummy home made cakes.

Update from St Augustines
The regular coffee stop between 11 and 1 on a Wednesday continues to be well supported. If the weather is warm tables are placed outside. Also quite often local musicians use the church to practice. Last week the southwark sinfonieta were in and next week I believe a two piece combo may be turning up.

Tuesday 28th March at 7.30pm. Sounds of the forest - performed by Tom Foster on piano and the forest hill collective. An evening of music and poetry on behalf of the refugee council. Tickets £10.

Sunday 2nd April at 6.30pm. An almost april fools day concert - performed by One Tree Hill Sinfonia in aid of the Croydon Refugee day centre. Includes works by Mozart, Haydn, Cage and much more. Solist Julian Rowlands and Adam Khan. Suggested donation £10

Sunday 9th April at 7.30. Friends of music devotional concert. No further details yet.

Saturday 6th of May between 11 and 4. Spring Fayre. The usual mix of stalls and tombola etc.

It is expected that all the above events will be accompanied by refreshments to buy - all provided by the St Augustines team of bakers.

The one tree hill music festival is drawing to a close with paper fish performing on Saturday. Should be an excellent finale. Check out their website paperfishband to hear a few of their songs. Don't forget there is a licenced bar as well 're coffee juice and cakes

The opera on Monday was absolutely fantastic and the Tudor music on Tuesday was performed with great gusto. There was also an impromptu concert of Schubert lieder yesterday following the coffee morning. So all in all a very successful event. Next year we may even stretch it to 2 weeks.
