This Saturday, from 1.00 to 4.00, is our first “last Saturday of the month” Open Day at Dacres Wood Nature Reserve of 2016.

Local Mum Dani is organising a frogspawn themes Easter egg hunt, and there'll also be opportunities for adults to help with some conservation work.

It's also just a nice way to see this lovely space, and meet us as 'Friends'; we're also hoping to meet local artists for whom it could be a good place to show their work.

On the subject of frogspawn, we do have some at last, and we're not at all miffed that everyone else seem to have it sooner ...

What determines when frogs spawn?

Wouldn't it be more conservation friendly to leave the frogspawn where it is and not remove it from its natural place in the environment.

Yes, I'd agree. I didn't say we had moved any Smile
