Is promoting the consumption of a fairly dangerous, albeit legal, drug, really a good way for Voluntary Services Lewisham to be raising money?

From 'About VSL' on its website, it exists to help, among others

  • Vulnerable adults
  • People experiencing mental health difficulties
  • Children & families from disadvantaged backgrounds
  • People in recovery from addiction

all of which groups will include people whose lives are blighted by alcohol.

Is denigrating the promotion of a fairly well meaning, albeit philanthropic, organisation really the best use of your time this morning?

Perhaps if you have better ideas you should offer to help them directly. Just blasting them on a forum achieves nothing positive in my view.

Hardly a blast, I'd say.

If I'm in a minority among our local bien pensants, that is a shame, but so be it.

If I am not to be included in their number at all, then I can live with it.
