Not exactly within SE23 but within reach - I thought SE23ers might be interested in this idea. It would provide both green space and a link between different parts of Peckham http://peckhamcoalline.strikingly.com/

They are crowdfunding for a feasibility study this month http://www.spacehive.com/peckhamcoalline

A great idea, really nice. When people come together, exciting things can happen.

Sounds pretty much identical in concept to the absolutely fabulous Manhattan High Line, where the long-abandoned elevated railway line into the old meatpacking district was converted into a quite wonderful garden.

And the 'LowLine' in Waterloo / Bankside / London Bridge area http://www.betterbankside.co.uk/buf/the-low-line

I just hope they can temper the understandable enthusiasm for craft breweries and have a good mix of businesses. It can't be all beards and barley.
