ATTENTION residents of Kilmorie Road and surrounding roads. I have spotted a couple of teenager boys prowling up and down the road several times lately, peering into the windows of houses and parked cars.

This afternoon (7th September), the same pair lurked by a moped and started checking to see if it was locked. They ran off when my neighbour happened to come outside, but they returned about 20 minutes later and sat on a wall near the same vehicle again.

They might be harmless but better to be safe than sorry! The boys are white, possibly 13 or 14 and were wearing tracksuit bottoms and dark coats the last time I saw them from the window. There is a dark-haired, older boy while his younger sidekick seems to keep an eye out for nosy neighbours!

They obviously like exercise...saw a duo of the same description this evening walking through the car park in front of our flats off Round Hill, checking out the cars

Best thing to do if possible is to take a pic and send it to our local SNT team.

They are pretty good and very on it with local teenagers that cause trouble.

Saying that, not all local teenagers wearing these sort of clothes cause trouble, but just a few giving them a bad name, I know many that wear these kind of clothes that have impeccable manners and are very respectable to their elders.

Though If in doubt I'd call 101 or 999 depending on urgency.especially if they are returning again.

Same boys tried to take a moped from Sunderland Rd yesterday, both dark short hair, slightly longer on top. One boy bigger than the other.

There have been a number of break ins on Rojack road and Rockbourne road in the last couple of months. They have been targeting houses in the daytime, Monday to Friday. Police are aware but it's important everyone is vigilant.

I have asked a number of times if people have reported this activity to the police and have not had a response. The reason I ask is that the PC who visited me yesterday following my car having heen broken into says they rely on people noticing things and reporting them.

So please, by all means tell us about them on here but please also tell tue police.

101 for non emergency and 999 if it is happening now.

Londondrz the answer is usually no these days. Not having a pop at people but talking about things and acting on them are two very different things. Regardless of how pointless and hopeless you think it is.

well they took the time to report it on here - so why not just tell the police of authorities

Snazy and FH, it takes the same tie but I guess it's easier not to act.

Speaking of lads hanging around on bikes – we had a break in in Devonshire Road between 5.30 and 8.30 p.m. on the 23rd Sept. Two lads on bikes were seen beforehand hanging about. Scaffolding went up that afternoon at the rear of our block. The scaffolders left the ladder down to the ground and part of the side fence open. Which makes me wonder....?.
Literally within a couple of hours of the scaffolders leaving someone broke in through the bathroom window.
Got off fairly lightly – lost a bedroom TV (Samsung) and an Asus Zen book laptop (fully backed up). Took some other bits and pieces that might catch them out; two pairs of almost unique but not valuable cufflinks (1950s designs) and an empty Lewis tweed wallet.
They had to break down the flat door to get out. Unfortunately none of our neighbours were yet home. Heard that there was also a car waiting for the loot.
