Does anyone know of any good safe places to park in the centre of Forest Hill. My partner and I are hoping to buy a car but don't have private parking so would need to park on a road near the centre. Also are parking permits required?

There are restrictions in some roads near the station. When you say Central Forest Hill what exactly do you mean , is it the station ??
If it is the station there are kerb side places within 3 to 4 mins walk.

^^ Like Brian said
There are some streets I would never park on, more due to risk of being side swiped than crime. But plenty of parking all around. Feel free to park outside my house long term if you wish, everyone else does lol.

You can also park outside my house but you need to get there by 7.30am.

Once a certain FH estate Agent closes down there will be a whole bunch more 'vacant' spaces just off London Road.

Dont you just hate that. I reckon there should be a penalty for "commercial" vehicles taking up residential parking like that. Especially in volumes.

There are a number of estate agents in LR , even after demise of Scotchbrocks.
I am surprised they need cars to show potential buyesr arround as most houses in SE 23 within 10 to 15 mins walk .

They have to have a status symbol. They're probably too delicate to take public transport as well!

Surely in the current economic climate we should be nice to estate agents.
To be honest I am really surprised that only one ( Scotchbrocks ) has closed.

Thanks guys. I just thought that a few of the roads off London Road were permit parking or metered only. I don't need to park to get to the station as I live very close but just didn't want to walk miles to get the car if/when we got one.
Thanks again.

the Leisham website will outline all parking for you in Forest Hill. It tell you where the CPZ's are and where all the public and private car parks are.
