I think it would be good if we had another section in this forum. I was thinking of a "Local events" section. It could contain all sorts of events such as fairs, gigs, fundraisers and even yard sales.

Other areas' forums contain a section like this and it seems useful to the users.

check out the photo I attached.

Forthcoming bank robberies... Rofl
Seriously, though, looks like a good idea. Gets my vote.

Yes seems like a very sensible idea.

'Yard sales' fit nicely into the Offered/wanted/lost/found section I guess but for Local events it would be a useful addition.

Can we get one of those 'for or against' things going

Ping a message to Admin and ask nicely. It's his/her website. He/she may just have not noticed this comment thread (summer hols, etc) or there may be admin issues we're not thinking about - eg, endlessly having to differentiate between 'commercial' events that should be paid for and 'local' events that can be posted for free.

The admin said he/she will "bear it in mind"

Fair enough. Admin is the one who will have to do the work, after all. At least he/she is aware of the idea, now. Well done for asking.
