I think it's a bit of a shame that it's going to be another bar, but all the best of luck to them.

With Hop Scotch and Stone Bar as well as Donde and to some extent Mama Dough already offering bar options on the parade, the new venture may need to offer something different.

Really exciting. Honor Oak is becoming a destination.

Perhaps now that Stone Bar is set to become a restaurant, Lewisham would reconsider its refusal for this change of use...?

But Stone Bar already was a restaurant (well reputedly) so there is no change of use there.

It's permitted development to change use from a bar to a restaurant so no planning application required in any case.

I agree, i think there could have been grounds for an appeal on the honor oak park supermarket decision.

As far as I know an appeal has been submitted for "One Tree Hill".

I wish the guys the best of luck with this as they are really lovely & commited to bringing something different to the area & getting involved in the community. I think it would be a real asset to HOP.

With Stone Bar closing it'd be good to see these plans accepted. I try and buy from there as often as possible but Sainsburys are cheaper and have more of what I want most of the time, so staying as supermarket may not be best for them.

I've been chatting with Pramesh from the supermarket in Honor Oak High Street and it appears the council, perhaps unsurprisingly, have turned the plans down for the wine bar. I'd urge locals to use the Honor Oak Supermarket or lose it. OK, Sainsbury's sell certain things cheaper, but I'd rather have a chat about the football with a local who's been in the high street for many years when I buy my cat food, than swear at a machine that nags me and then doesn't accept half my cash. Some things are more important than saving a few pennies on your milk.

I agree with you TrypF. I hate the Sainsbury's local and rarely shop there. It's crowded and badly designed.

My own favourite local shop is Concard on Brockley Rise, which is great for nipping in to buy a paper or soft drink (it has a fantastic selection of soft drinks).

There is a fantastic wine bar round here already, Mr Lawrence in Crofton Park. OK, it's not on the parade, but it's worth the walk - excellent range of wine and highly knowledgeable owners who also run an online wine merchants (again excellent).

I think everyone thought the Honor Oak Supermarket was closing down to make way for the wine bar so lots of people stopped shopping there. Worth noting that they're still open for business!
