Have enquired on Twitter.
Sometimes they say, other times its not open for discussion.

PS is it definitely the police one and not the Network Rail chopper?

Yep, hovering right above my house and not making my home-office day any easier. :-) Looks like they're checking on something rail related, though as they're going up and down the railway sidings.

I have just driven passed Honor Oak station and there are a number of police cars and a van with police looking over the bridge.
Possibly someone on the track?

If they are along the railway, its quite possibly the Network Rail heli

That said, just seen Sam's post, so will keep looking out to see whats happening.

My daughter just told me the trains through Forest Hill are cancelled - trespasser on the track.

Nationalail.co.uk shows the next two services are cancelled but TFL says everything is fine in our stretch of the Overground!

I know who I believe.

Edit at 4.24pm: TFL now saying "No service New Cross Gate to West Croydon and Cyrstal Palace while we deal with a trespasser on the track at Forest Hill."

I'm sure there's very good logic, there, but the idea of Network Rail having a helicopter brings to mind the idea of the RNLI having a Learjet Wink

Edit: Is the chopper to enable the Network Rail top brass to get to work on time? Can we all have one? Thumbsup

Meet the heli's used by network rail.. Almost identical to the untrained eye, to that of NPAS Thumbup

Very cool, Snazy, thanks for that!

BTW, TFL website now saying "No service New Cross Gate to West Croydon and Cyrstal Palace while we deal with a trespasser on the track at Forest Hill."

Thanks for the pic, Snazy. Heli seems to have gone home now, phew, peace and quiet restored. Southern have tweeted trespass incident between NXG and Sydenham, all lines blocked.

Hope you get moving soon Londondrz, always very frustrating. Wonder what their intentions were? Dare I think?

Tinkerbell, glad you have your peace back, but don't get too used to it, this IS London after all Smile

Reliably informed that it was in fact @NPAS_Boreham overhead.
Nerdy fact done for the day. Rofl

I've heard that 'trespasser on the tracks' is a euphemism for a suicide attempt or someone with mental health issues.

Person was by the track near bridge at Honor Oak - certainly looked like 'issues' to my untrained eye.

All cleared but there are delays and cancellations.

Slim chance that anyone knows this, but I'll try anyway - anyone aware if the person "on the track" may have had a little dog that was left to roam after the incident?

A young woman found a little Jack Russel (with just a sort of cord for a collar with unusual stone-like pendant on it, like a necklace, no proper collar or lead) wondering around near HOP station and it apparently nearly got run over. She came towards me on my way to the station in Grierson Road (the bit leading to Garthorne), carrying the little dog. Think she was planning to get a leach on him and then look after him/contact the RSPCA. I couldn't quite forget about the little Jack Russel on my way into town - he looked quite lost and confused, so perhaps someone knows where it belonged or if it was the person on the tracks' dog.

If you're the young lady carrying the cute little dog - so nice to know that there are people out there who care for animals, well done! Hope all is well with the dog, and of course the person on the tracks, even if unrelated.
