Was looking at that earlier and there is a big blank section of that map. As usual SE London gets left out in the cold.

There are plans to run Overground to New Cross Gate all Friday and Saturday night from 2017, proving that the tube network does exist south of the river (but only just).
But we do have a very good night bus network, and not just on Friday and Saturdays.
Waterloo to Forest Hill take 54 minutes at 5pm, but it only take 24 minutes at 2am (buses run every 20 minutes). By train the journey from Waterloo takes approx 25 minutes (during the daytime), so during the night the bus is actually faster than the train would be, if it existed!
Despite this excellent bus service at night, I'll continue to ask Overground to find ways to extend their night service to NXG to Crystal Palace, at least until 1:30am.

I recently came across a TFL public consultation on night bus changes being proposed to fit in with the night tubes:
As the Jubilee line is going to be one of the lines running on Fridays and Saturday nights I had hoped we might get a bus link from Canada Water into the area but unfortunately that isn't the case.
I would therefore urge anyone who would like to voice their opinion to complete the consultation by July 1st. You don't have to answer all the questions and as they're broken down by region you can easily skip through each section until you reach the last one which is for for general comments.
The consultation is on:

what a shame the overground wont run 24 hours in se London, yes buses are flast at night, its not the traffic that is the problem, its that it stops at most bust stops, 176 is already a busy bus throughout the day and especially at night, I wish they would increase frequency.

My daughter is seeing a movie at 9:30pm in the Waterloo Imax and we're not sure she'll make the last Overground home. This is crazy. We need later running even if it's not all night.

Remember the last train to FH is from London Bridge, rather than Canada Water at 0040.

Yes, and that's the one she got. I'd rather she was on the Overground at that time of night though. The open carriages are much safer.
