what on earth was going on at Honor Oak Park on Sunday? There was Police tape all around the ticket office when I got there about midday - anyone know?

Does it really take TWO Kings of Hi-Viz to stand in the way on the already narrowed platform at HOP announcing where the ELL is going? Oh, Dalston Junction? I thought this was the expressway to HELL! You mean it doesn't veer off from its designated destination at any point? How uninspiring.
But then it beats one of them rushing down to the back end of the platform each time a train came, to stop people accessing the final set of doors in case they got hit by the oncoming train. I mean, we are floundering children after all.
Stay on ground level fellas and help people with prams, as the station still refuses to join the world of 20th century accessibility.
I could go on...

Quite like the surplus staff at HOP.

Beats there being no staff there.

Anyone has any updates on when the platform 1 wall will be sorted? Also the steps of the stairs on both platforms are getting worse and worse with pieces of wood sticking out from the steps, especially on platform 2.

No update on the platforms I'm afraid, but whether you love him or loathe him, the Honor Oak Guitar Man is back. Must be the sunny weather... Smile

After a couple of Recent threads with open questions on the work on platform 1 at HOP, I thought it might be useful to get in touch with LOROL. They wrote back today and advised that the following work remains:

LOROL Customer Services wrote:
*       Monitoring of platform movement to confirm that earthworks have been successful.
*       Construction of a new retaining structure to enable removal of existing sheet piling.
*       Repairs to canopy and reinstatement of damaged sections of platform

They've also said that posters will be put up explaining what's happening at the station itself and that they will try to advise when the work ought to be complete. I am fairly impressed at their swift and constructive response.

Any news of a lift being fitted? How about a spirally ramp, those steps and me carrying a pram upstairs is scary stuff.

Honor Oak Park was scheduled for developement under the 'Railways for All' programme over the period 2012-2015. More details here: at . I would expect this to consist of lifts to the platforms. 'Spirally ramps' would be horribly long given the distance down to the platforms.
