Best way to get to the M4 from Forest Hill

A little late now but I use the South Circ./Wandsworth bridge/Peterborough road/Parsons green lane/Kelvedon road/Davies road/Lille road/Fulham palace road to Hammersmith route. I was shown this route about 30 years ago and despite the road calming measures introduced more recently in the mid section it still works.
