Warning received from a local resident:

There is a burst water main this morning at the very top of Canonbie road SE23, (a very steep hill), Water is running down the hill across the road and has frozen right down to Netherby road and Westwood park, Canonbie road and Netherby roads are impassable due to the sheet ice.

Perhaps you can be kind enough to use your forum to inform people so they stay away to prevent an accident.

That's a clever trick to prevent rat-running. Hopefully the council have closed the road to prevent problems.

Drove by this morning and it was dire. There was enough water for a salmon run, so personally I suspect one of those TV chefs ....
