Agreed. Does anyone know whether we can expect journey times to return to 13mins (or close) as the engineering works finish, or if the increase in journey times is likely to be permanent?

On average, I've found the 0912 to arrive at London Bridge around 7-8 mins earlier than during the peak of the delays.

Passenger satisfaction drops again

South east stats:

  • Less than half of passengers were satisfied overall with London Bridge station (49 per cent – down from 64 per cent in 2014)
  • Overall satisfaction with the journey for passengers who started their journey at London Bridge station was 59 per cent – down from 70 per cent in 2014
  • In London and the South East, satisfaction with punctuality was 73 percent – down from 75 per cent in 2014 - but for commuters it was 64 per cent.

Survey results by rail company:
http://www.transportfocus.org.uk/researc...pring-2015

Only 35% of customers are satisfied with Southern value for money.

Not surprising.

I think they said on the news yesterday that the London Bridge project is half completed.
Only another 6 months to go then?!

I think the most extraordinary thing about the survey figures above is that apparently 35% are satisfied that Southern are giving them value for money?!?! Who are these 35% - either they've never actually travelled on Southern or when they did it was on a day trip out of the asylum... Confused

On 8th July there was a Westminster Hall debate in Parliament on "Southern Railway (Performance)".

Transcript at http://www.theyworkforyou.com/whall/?id=...7-08a.83.0

Sadly neither Vicky Foxcroft (Lewisham Deptford) nor Jim O'Dowd (Lewisham West and Penge) participated so Honor Oak Park, Brockley and Forest Hill were not represented. At least the residents of Sydenham were represented by Helen Hayes (Dulwich and West Norwood).

I'm not sure if there is any meaningful output from a WH Debate but I presume it adds to the pressure on Southern and Network Rail to improve things.

My wife and I are considering moving to the Forest Hill area and were wondering how busy the Forest Hill train station gets in the mornings during peak times. Are there times when commuters have to queue and are only able to catch the 2nd or 3rd trains to stop at the station? If so, what times in the morning does this generally happen please?

Thanks in advance!

I get either the 8.12 or the 9.12. I am able to get onto both. Standing only on the 8.12 but lots of seats on the 9.12. These are LB trains btw.

The London Overground trains are extremely crowded in the morning peak say 7:30am to 8:45am, (like packed sardines standing) and if anything goes out of kilter then you may well have to wait.

The Lon Bridge trains are less frequent but certainly less crowded. The journey into Lon Bridge is slower whilst the Lon Bridge redevelopment goes on, but overall is working much better than Jan/Feb when it was complete chaos.

At 7:15am I almost always get a seat on a London Bridge train, and there is plenty of standing space on Overground - occasionally I will even get a seat.

Even at peak times you should never have to wait for the 2nd train from Forest Hill. In the past (when there were fewer trains and shorter) I have seen this happen at Brockley, but not Forest Hill (except when the system completely breaks down).

Coming home, if you leave from London Bridge you should be able to get a seat even at peak times, you have little chance of a seat on Overground.

Todays 9:12 arrived at 9:08! Are Southern trying to make up for all those late trainsLaugh

I think they freed up some track space when the 8.12 from FH didn't show up at all.
