Annual travelcard: Gold Card improvements from Jan 2015

The Gold Card benefits are improving from January 2015, including:

- extension of the railcard area to Birmingham and Shrewsbury (but only on London Midland, not Virgin), and Suffolk and Norfolk on Abellio East Anglia

- the option to buy a one year Railcard for £10 for you or a friend – choose from a 16-25, Family & Friends, Senior, Two Together, Disabled Persons or Network Railcard

Until this, it was only £1 to buy a second Railcard, although you were restricted to a Gold Card.
