I moved to HOP in 95....even then A BOYLE's shop on the parade was almost always closed...but every so often the sign would be turned to open and you could sneak in to buy a second hand mug or what not.

So its sad to see that Mr Boyle has closed up shop this year...

If Im honest the couple of times I did go in Mr Boyle was a pretty gruff, but that was all part of it.

Does anyone know more about Mr Boyle? Im presuming he ran that shop for years and years. Would love to know more.

Anyhow, end of an era.

Though nice to see the new resident hasnt moved that far from Mr Boyle's retail territory.

Sadly Mr Boyle passed away earlier this year, well into his nineties. The shop has reopened now under new owners.
