Estate agent signs - FYI

How long can they leave the "Proud sponsor of..." signs up that many Estate Agents are putting up in a bid to make it look like more properties are for sale? I believe that the agency makes a contribution to the school for each sign, but that the property concerned is not for rent / sale.
