Thought you might be interested in these answers from LOROL to questions from our members:

Can people with National Rail Station to Station season tickets travel on Overground trains? For example, can Forest Hill - London Bridge season ticket holders travel from Forest Hill - New Cross Gate on your trains, or must they wait for a Southern train?

Quote:
Point to point seasons are valid on LOROL services in the circumstance you describe. It should be noted, however, that point to point seasons to/from London Terminals are NOT valid north of New Cross/New Cross Gate.

What Oyster facilities are now available at the stations?

Quote:
Concerning the Oyster facilities at Forest Hill (and all ex-Southern stations we have taken over), the machines should be able to do the following:
  • Load pre-pay on to an Oyster
  • Load weekly and Monthly (if registered) tickets on to an Oyster
  • Add/Remove Oyster Extension Permits
  • Cancel/Non-Issue a transaction carried out by that office (i.e. if someone changes their mind mid-way or doesn’t have the right money)
  • Provide information as to what ticket and/or how much pre-pay is on the Oyster

The machines however cannot do the following:
  • Load annual season tickets on to an Oyster
  • Resolve incomplete journeys
  • Interrogate the Oyster and provide a printout of recent activity
  • Provide refunds (for example encountering a large service delay and requiring reimbursement)

I'd like to know how to get a receipt for Oyster PAYG usage with auto top-up. It is great to have the convenience of the top-up, but it's hard to keep a record of the amounts spent.
It would make sense to have a monthly statement emailed, as the journey history online is difficult to use for this purpose. I did email 'oysterqueries@tfl.gov.uk' on the subject a month ago but got no reply.

Any ideas?

If you're using Auto Top-up via the TfL Oyster website, you can bring up a page of journeys made which you can print off.

If not, go to any Underground or Overground station ticket office north of Surrey Quays and ask for a Oyster Usage Statement which will show the last 8 journeys made. I do this on a regular basis for work expenses.

FH and HOP should have this equipment, but LOROL have decided to use the old Southern equipment, presumably to save on cost.

Does anyone know whether "they" (whoever the Overground train operator is) are going to change the horrible station announcement for "Barkley" (aka Brockley)?

It makes me wince every time I hear it!

According to the TfL website, LO are planning to run a normal service, however Canada Water and Whitechapel may have to close during the strike as those stations are managed by London Underground who's employees may be on strike.

However LU will try and keep many stations as open as possible (Probably in zones 1 and 2). I'd expect CW and Whitechapel to be a priority with the interchanges with the tube into Central London.

According to the latest TFL Commissioners Report:

Quote:
the ELLX2 is now effectively complete, and is ready to be officially opened with the December Timetable change

That means services from Surrey Quays to Clapham Junction from 09 December 2012.

The new connections will be useful especially on Sundays when there's no direct service to Clapham Junction. Crystal Palace's steps are not exactly easy for disabled passengers as an interchange.

At least this way, there's the option of changing at Surrey Quays or Canada Water for step-free access.

TfL's business plan includes the recommendation for some enhancements to the ELL to be completed by 2015 (subject to financing).

There are two enhancements they want to push ahead with:
1. Longer trains (5 carriages rather than 4)
2. additional 2 trains per hour on our branch, in addition to the existing 8 ELL and 4-6 Southern services

Together these changes would provide an additional 56% capacity on our branch of the ELL.

That explains why Canada Water was even worse than usual this evening. The West Croydon's were rammed.

Southern are going to be running a normal service tomorrow. Good luck!

I've given up on Southern for the moment - I got the Jubilee/East London line instead Sad

It says on their homepage that a number of their trains have been "damaged by snow".

What the heck...?

No trains going anywhere at 7:50 due to "trespassers on the track" and a pure sea of "Delayed". Staff waving their arms around and suggesting passengers get a bus. Retired home for a coffee!

I was told it was because someone had committed suicide at Honor Oak. A lady stopped me to let me know on the way to FH station.

Looks like trains are now running again. Very sad to hear if it was indeed a suicide.

It wasn't a suicide. It was a trespasser (allegedly drunk) on the line between HOP and Brockley - Police Helicopter called out and everything. I was on the 7:21 from Forest Hill which fianally set off at around 8:10 - the Police still hadn't caught the trespasser so it was a slowish crawl into London Bridge.
