Seriously...
Most amusing. I wonder what the story is there.
And while we're at it, what's happening opposite with all the heavy duty scaffolding next to the Wetherspoons. You could drive a tank over it.

Haha. I'm working on a photo series on all the different chicken shop variations in London (I've seen everything from Beirut Burger to Oklahoma Fried Chicken by now), need to go and snap this one before it gets changed, so cheers for the posting!

Re the development next to Wetherpoons, I reckon it's to allow delivery of building materials to the site behind the run of shops adjacent. No access from the rear so my guess delivery from the South Circ end then lumped on foot round the back via the scaffolding walkway.

I noticed that too, really weird.
Maybe they were done for false advertising when they couldn't back up the claim that their chicken is actually 'perfect'!

In fact the chicken seems to be raising an eyebrow at this curio. 'Ferfect'. Hmmm.
'No! Not Perfect Fried Chicken. Not enough Fs. If you put Ferfect you can get THREE Fs in! Now give us another toke on that doobie and I'll bash up a makeshift letter block.'

Ferfect Ficken,
pinger pickin' pood.
If that doesn't get the customers in,
then I'm at a total loss.

Well spotted, BoiledMouse.
The website is searchable by postcode, etc. There's 28 shops in SE23! But be quick - somebody is snapping them up! Even 'From the Forest', with all the newspapers stuck to the windows, has been sold - for £110!

Ferfect has been Ferfect for ages. I think there must have been a falling out with the Perfect chain. Hilarious solution.

Perfect Chicken is probably a symbol group/franchise. When the contract ends, many shops don't bother to change the sign, but they have to under their terms and conditions. So they often make as small a change as possible so they don't 'alienate' their customers.
Or because they don't want to spend money.
The Tower of Babel is an interesting project, although many of the better looking shops have had less money spent on them than many of the ugly ones. I've seen shops have huge sums paid for inappropriate shop fronts and signage and look awful, so the idea behind the Tower of Babel is a little skewed.
