As documented on the Brockley Central blog, Stella Artois are sponsoring a campaign to find London's best loved local pub.

You can nominate and vote at http://www.loveyourlocal.co.uk/.

All the more reason to produce an "undesired" result by voting for somewhere that doesn't stock it. If you can find one - it's pretty ubiquitous.

As if they would allow that.

Anyway, as discussed on other threads passim, I live smack inbetween two very different but thoroughly unlovable pubs, so I'll have to pass.

Concerned about what exactly? InBev brainwashing you into drinking Stella without you noticing?

Of course they are using it to promote their brand but it's a free vote and the winning pub gets:

Quote:
* Profiled in the Evening Standard to drive footfall
* a ?5k bursary for venue improvements
* ?1.5k for a staff event to thank them for driving votes

I don't care who's sponsoring it and have voted for my favourite pub which is firmly in the "real ale" world.

Anything to boost the profile of quality pubs is welcome as far as I'm concerned.

Regualar readers will now be pleased to note that they can vote for the Moor Park Tavern in Wood Vale, certainly no Stella there.
