I live in one of those semi-detached Victorian houses with a narrow side alley and there's a leak in the roof right at the top, on the side, which means whoever mends it will have to put scaffolding up. In fact, they've got to put scaffolding up even to look at it to be able to quote for the repair.

The quote I've been given just for putting up the scaffolding is £690. Has anyone out there had similar scaffolding put up? If so, can you tell me if £690 is reasonable? I'm still reeling...
