Over a year ago a small group of residents got together to plan a garden for local people on a bit of land next to Travis Perkins. After lots of hard work, by all involved the garden work in underway!

And we're having a party to celebrate

The Garden opens on Sunday 27th July, 2-5pm, with a special guest appearance by local CBeebies celebrity Sarah-Jane Honeywell.

There will be face-painting, balloon-art, stalls, games, food and drink, a tombola and guided planting sessions led by Groundwork.

It's all happening outside Travis Perkins' main entrance, next to Sannons Garden Centre on Stanstead Road, SE23 1BS

Sarah-Jane will unveil the plaque at 3.30pm

But, we can't open the garden without a name - we need your suggestions -any ideas welcome, but if you can show off a bit of local history, that would be especially good. Secret prize to be announced for the winner, and of course the legacy of naming this fantastic garden! Please post your entries here, closing date 11th July
