My dad was visiting us on Saturday 11th and at some point during the day 10am - 8.30pm the catalytic converter from his car was stolen. It was either here in SE23 (just off Garthorne road) or when we were briefly having a walk around Sydenham woods (Crescent Wood Road, SE26).

Just a quick warning to check your car if it starts to sound more throaty than usual as some thieving idiot may have targeted your car. Apart from the sadness of knowing that a crime was committed right outside our house, the repair bill is around £1400.

Apparently it's a simple and quick job to do, and in this case it looks like hydraulic cutting gear was used. Fingers crossed this was the only car targeted in the area, but I very much doubt it.
