This site has already proved its worth in getting lots of us writing to the Mayor, Southern, Transport for London, and others for matters directly affecting us.

Maybe others out there would be inclined to also write to the Home Secretary to fight other injustices? Maybe this thread could be used to bring some to our attention?

This particular request has nothing to do with SE23, but maybe you too would feel moved to help this family.

A young girl, aged 2, who is British but was born abroad to a British father but non-British mother who thus has no automatic right to residency, is being refused the opportunity to live here as they had always planned. Her mother's visa application has been refused for the fact that her British husband, and the baby's father, had the temerity to die of a sudden heart-attack aged 31 before moving back.

[full story here on Dave Gorman's excellent blog]

You are urged to write a short note to the Home Secretary or the family's MP to urge them to reconsider.

Thanks
