Hi all,
I'm having a frustrating time with the notice of diversion of the P4 from today until next Sunday. The whole of Honor Oak Road is not being served in both directions. There is no roadwork indication on the TfL site and their accessible support line is manned by people who have no answers. Thames Water said I would get a call back from the sub-contractors doing the work - of course no call came.
For anyone elderly, infirm, disabled, in a wheelchair or just lacking good mobility this diversion is more than unhelpful and seemingly ill-thought-out. The nearest stop to board is The Grove Tavern or Hengrave Road in the opposite direction. Alternatively, walk all the way up Westwood Park and then down, then along, then down Langton to Wood Vale. Not possible for many people. And this for a whole week. Checking alternative routes to Brixton, for example, comes to over an hour and still requires a passenger to walk down to the 185 stops, then walk to East Dulwich Grove to pick up a 37 or all the way to Goose Green! Of course, not really helpful at night either for someone vulnerable to walk from Hengrave.
Does anyone know more about what's going on? Cars, trucks, skip lorries, etc are still bombing up and down the road, so why no buses?
