As an Australian living over here, I'm pretty keen on my family history. It turns out that my great great grandfather was born and lived on Shaw Cottages off Perry Rise, a short 5 minute walk from where I live now! It's weird to thing that 170 years later I'm moved back to where some of my family has come from! I'm sure it was quite different back in 1860's.

As it's very local to me now, I'm quite interested in finding out more about it and the pub that is on the corner, the Prince of Wales.

Does anyone have any old photos of the area or the street and any idea of the pub was actually there back in the mid 1800's?

Thanks all,
Ben
