20mph is ridiculous on Sydenham Hill as the road conditions lend themselves to the standard speed limit of 30mph. Im not one to advocate high speeds in built up areas but there are few houses directly fronting onto this road and although there is a nursery school there it is somewhat set back from the road. As an experienced driver I feel that 20mph is actually inappropriate and hence dangerous. Ive found that going at 20mph causes drivers to overtake almost causing accidents on the bend.

Compare this to Honor Oak Road which is bordered by roads coming off it at 20mph and Honor Oak Park which is 20mph however HOR with three schools and a nursery close by was never considered for speed reduction and now parents of children at these schools are being told consultation can't start until 2016.

This has been a bizarre policy and action not to have put this into the hat for consideration at the same time as the others.
