There is a good community feel, most neighbours talk to one another and socialise in our bit.

I have never had any problem walking home from the station in any of the roads around Codrington Hill or Codrington Hill itself, even late at night and alone. As mentioned above there is always a lot of people walking from the station that way. There seems to be a lot of musicians traveling back from performances in the West End.

There is a lovely summer festival in the park (Blythe Hill Fields) every year, very much family friendly. There are some good schools about (Stillness, St William of York).

We no longer go to the Chandos pub (a bit too rough but the patrons keep themselves to themselves), especially since the Honor Oak Pub opened down the road. We also go out in the parade of shops near the station, with Stone, Hop Scotch, Le Querce and Try as favourites.

The local shop owners are very pleasant so we do shop locally and use the local services. Nice hairdresser (Barbaros - very friendly), Great beauty salon (Neroli), very helpful florist (Honor Oak Park Florist). There is a traditional butcher in Ewhurst Road (Peter James).

Brockley and Crofton Park, which are a short walk away also offer other places to shop and drink (Mr Lawrence (wine bar), Jam Circus (Pub with live music) and you can also walk to the Blythe Hill Tavern (very authentic Irish pub with live music and beer garden)
